Boy Scouts Radio Merit Badge

On Saturday Feb 8th, 2025, the Nashville Amateur Radio Club hosted members of Boys Scouts Troop 31 who were in the process of earning their Radio Merit Badge. The boys had their classroom work completed before coming to the club house for their hands on training. The boys were introduced to Amateur Radio, antennas and safety. They were able to make DX contacts on the IC-7300.

Here is a note from the leader who attended the training with the boys….

Dear K4CPO,

Thank you so very much for hosting the Troop 31 scouts on Saturday for the radio merit badge. I appreciate all of the time and effort that all of you put into planning our visit carefully and executing it perfectly. All of the boys had so much fun and apparently have all been chatting up their parents about ham radio since then. You made them feel like they had learned a lot in the morning session and were ready to go on air with you! I appreciated your patience and your clear joy for what you do. Thanks to you all four boys have earned their badge!

With many thanks,

Stacy
