The Bandspread – May 2025

The primary purposes of the Nashville Amateur Radio Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is to operate a non-profit corporation for charitable, educational and scientific purposes as follows:
-To educate and increase the proficiency of its members in the science of radio communications.
-To provide for dissemination of information among its members concerning scientific advancement and progress in the field of radio communications.
-To organize and train units of licensed radio amateurs capable of maintaining radio communications as a public service during periods of emergency.
-To encourage and sponsor experimental activities in radio communications and electronics, to the end that skills and experience gained in amateur radio will further the application of electronics to the benefit of the public at large.
-To promote the elevation of standards of practice and ethics in the conduct of amateur radio communications.

We meet at the Williamson County Public Safety Center (PSC), located at: 304 Beasley Drive in Franklin, TN. If you've struggled telling someone how to find 304 Beasley Drive, the PSC is set back off of Beasley and you can’t see the PSC building very well from Beasley. A hint: have folks turn at the blue sign, "CHARLES R MEEK Dr." Meeting starts at 8AM in the EOC. Members periodically give presentations covering a wide range topics including emergency communications, propagation and antennas, operating techniques and best-practices, kit building, hardware and software, Winlink, weather, ARRL, new modes and more.
