QtFlexIntegration QtFT891 is a companion application for the FT-891 that remembers certain user settings that automatically change when changing modes or bands (such as width, DNR settings, etc.). It also gives users easy
access to settings stored deep in the menu of the radio in a logical tabbed layout. For instance, setting the TX eq up per Heil’s instructions is a sinch, and can be done in under a minute, from within the TX Eq tab. The user interface layout in the GEN tab
somewhat mimic’s the 891’s, and clicking on any button arranged in that fashion, such as IPO, will toggle that value on or off. In some cases, such as split, there’s 4 ways to split, 3 on one toggle button, and quick split. But the GEN tab is where the access
to the most commonly used functions of the radio reside. It also gives you direct frequency input, in both VFO A and B. Just enter the frequency (with or without the delimiters) and press the enter key (return). The spin dial’s next to the VFO’s operate much
like the encoder on the radio. The memory channel editor allows users to directly input memories 1-100. Similarly, the notch and contour dialogs provide a visual indication of where the settings are in the passband. The radio can be powered on and off with
this app. Technically,  if someone wanted to operate the ft891 remotely, with this app it’d be possible.
