The primary purposes of the Nashville Amateur Radio Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is to operate a non-profit corporation for charitable, educational and scientific purposes as follows:
-To educate and increase the proficiency of its members in the science of radio communications.
-To provide for dissemination of information among its members concerning scientific advancement and progress in the field of radio communications.
-To organize and train units of licensed radio amateurs capable of maintaining radio communications as a public service during periods of emergency.
-To encourage and sponsor experimental activities in radio communications and electronics, to the end that skills and experience gained in amateur radio will further the application of electronics to the benefit of the public at large.
-To promote the elevation of standards of practice and ethics in the conduct of amateur radio communications.

There will be two awards that day: ̈ Peoples Choice—Best Home Brew ̈ Judges Choice—Best Overall based on point scale ̈ See how others design and build their Go Kits ̈ Help Pick the Peoples Choice winner - Peoples Vote ̈ Learn and have fun! Judging will be based on Equipment Band coverage, Digital Data Modes, Power ability, Operator Preparedness, and Antenna cover- age of Band. No entry fee, just fun and a chance to socialize with others. See the amateur radio use by TEMA, Red Cross, NOAA, and other agencies for a hint on judging for abilities. Power will NOT be provided. Your are on your own to operate in an emergency conditions! Maybe trees for use, maybe not, antennas may not be attached to any structures existing on site. Contestants have 1 hour to setup from starting buzzer. All are welcome to come and see how others build their kits, ask questions and get ideas for building or improving your own go kit. This is both a fun way to show off and give ideas and a challenge to others to be prepared if they should ever be a need to communicate in an emergency. We invite all Emergency Responders to come see what can be deployed in an hour or less during times of an emergency and everyone ask your questions of contestants.
